What to Expect

What Is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that helps you connect more fully with who you are and improve how you relate to others. It can support you through many challenges, including:

  • Depression – feeling sad, hopeless, disconnected, or unmotivated

  • Anxiety – constantly worrying or replaying the past

  • Emotional dysregulation – intense mood swings, difficulty managing emotions, or feeling overwhelmed, angry, or self-destructive

  • Relationship conflict – ongoing arguments or emotional distance from people you care about

I also work with individuals navigating gender dysphoria, offering a space to explore identity with curiosity, care, and respect. My approach is not about arriving at predetermined answers, but rather about supporting your own process of discovery—whatever shape that may take.

Whether you're feeling stuck, lost, or simply want to grow, therapy offers a space to untangle what’s been holding you back and explore new ways forward. I believe meaningful change is possible for anyone, starting with the first session.

My Approach

My work is grounded in mindfulness-based therapies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These approaches help you build emotional awareness, manage stress, and develop stronger relationships.

In our sessions, we’ll focus on practical skills like:

  • Being present and more accepting of your emotions

  • Communicating assertively and with compassion

  • Responding wisely to everyday stress

Change doesn’t mean becoming someone else—it means learning to accept yourself and your experiences more fully, so you can move forward with clarity and intention.

Support for Borderline Personality Disorder

If you’ve been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder—or relate to intense emotions, identity struggles, or unstable relationships—know that effective support is available. I offer a tailored version of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for individuals, especially for those who may not be a fit for full DBT group programs.
